Frequently Asked Questions

What is a birth doula?

A birth doula is a trained professional who provides non-medical emotional, physical, and informational support to help you feel prepared, heard, and supported throughout your birth experience.

Does a doula replace my partner?

No. A doula does not replace your partner. Maria helps partners feel more confident and involved by offering practical guidance and reassurance throughout labour.

Do you support hospital births?

Yes. Maria supports hospital births, birth centres, and home births. She provides continuous, non-medical support regardless of your chosen care setting.

When do you go on call?

On-call availability is confirmed during our initial consultation. Maria will provide specific details regarding her availability and the terms of the selected service package.

What happens if I am unavailable?

Backup coverage arrangements are provided for all service packages. Maria will contact you immediately if she is unable to attend your birth, and we will work together to find a solution.
